a Halloween Event for Our Four-Legged Friends

You and your costume-clad canine are invited to participate in “DOGtober” at Hyde Park Farmers’ Market on Sunday, October 24th.

This pawsome costume contest begins at noon with a walk around The Square for a Halloweenie dog parade. Reveling rovers and their proud parents/families can strut in spook-tacular style in front of our esteemed judges for the chance to be a “Top Dog.”

Participation Rules

  • All breeds of dogs in disguises are welcomed
  • Costumes must be safe and comfortable for our precious pups
  • Please carry with you an extra “pooper scooper” bag (just in case)
  • Each dog must be accompanied by an adult human and leashed at all times
  • HPFM is a family-friendly environment, all clad canines must honor this and play nicely with other dogs and market patrons alike (i.e., no biting, loud barking, growling, etc.)
  • Please, no puppies under 4 months or without vaccinations
  • No Flexi leashes
  • Registration is required to participate in the parade or contest

Failure to abide by any of these rules will result in
doggie disqualification and possibly being asked to leave the market area.


There will be three very exciting awards offered:

  • Top Dog
  • First runner-up
  • Best costume group (Two or more dogs OR any dog/pet parent combination)
